The Aries Ingress
The Suns Ingress into Aries - The Year Ahead for the United States of America
In this article, we’ll examine the Sun’s ingress into Aries for 2025. I’ll highlight key astrological themes and connect them to unfolding events. Essentially, I’m translating the language of the stars into earthly terms.
Abu Ma’Shar states that when Saturn is conjoined with the Head of the Dragon (North Node), it signifies impediments related to the sign in which they unite. With Saturn in Pisces and conjoined with the North Node—especially if Saturn is oriental—it indicates divisions among the wealthy and mutual conflicts between them. Additionally, when Saturn is direct, as it is in this chart, it signifies common people within religious institutions and matters concerning the honoring of the divine.
Saturn occupies the 2nd house, which governs a nation's resources—goods, money, financial systems, and overall support structures. This placement suggests increasing restrictions in these areas. The current administration has already imposed numerous tariffs, not only on distant nations but also on neighboring countries. When goods become scarce, the cost of living rises. Imports we rely on will dwindle, further driving up prices.
According to Trading Economics and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), common imports from China that could be impacted by Trump’s tariff plan include:
Fish and crustaceans
Vegetable fats and oils
Vegetables (especially corn), fruit, and nuts
Soaps, lubricants, waxes, candles, modeling pastes
Cereal, flour, starch, wheat, and milk products
Coffee, tea, and spices
Sugar
Cocoa
Dairy products, eggs, honey, and edible goods
Vinegar
Apple juice
Garlic
What exacerbates this situation is that Saturn is the malefic contrary to the sect, signifying not only obstacles and limitations but also the destabilization of the U.S. economy. A billionaire with no official government authority is disrupting key agencies that provide aid to millions of Americans. Symbolically, I see this reflected in Elon Musk—a "tech genius" operating beneath Trump—who is a known advocate of cryptocurrency. A tech billionaire is essentially dismantling the U.S. Treasury. Saturn’s symbolism in this chart points to the collapse or restructuring of the financial system in favor of a more “efficient” and transparent model—not based on fiat currency, but on a digital system unfamiliar to many. This is the unsettling aspect of Saturn in Pisces: it materializes the unknown. Whether we like it or not, we are living in a digital age. I’ve personally witnessed the transition from outdated paper record-keeping to digital systems, emphasizing efficiency and precision.
Now, let’s discuss the trine Saturn is receiving from Mars, the malefic of the sect. While trines are often considered “positive,” the planets involved and their conditions must be examined. Mars is debilitated—cadent, in the sign of its fall—yet retains accidental dignity in its joy. As the triplicity ruler of Cancer, Mars isn’t entirely powerless and still holds some advantages.
Bonatti states that if Mars is in Cancer in a revolution chart, it signifies sudden shipwrecks due to strong winds. It also indicates quarrels, warfare in the western regions, oppression due to taxes, fevers, throat and chest illnesses, oppressive heat, and reduced rainfall. This is a troubling omen for the United States. Another concerning aspect is that Saturn overcomes Mars in this chart, giving Saturn the upper hand and further worsening Mars’ condition.
Now, let’s turn to Venus. In mundane astrology, Venus represents the women of a nation. Here, Venus is in detriment, retrograde, and combust under the Sun’s rays—an indication of feminine energy being weakened and oppressed by the ruling authority. However, this does not mean that the will to resist will be absent. Venus receives strong support from the sect ruler, the Moon, which resides in the 11th house of Good Spirit. This house, being Jupiter’s domicile, signifies that the support women need is closely tied to the desires of the common people. While there is division among the populace, the Moon’s placement remains generally favorable. The Moon, positioned in a mutable sign, reflects ideological conflicts, further emphasized by its opposition to Jupiter—the planet of law, belief systems, and high-ranking officials. This signifies tensions between the common people and the elite, as the public increasingly opposes the wealthy and their ideologies.
Mercury, ruling trade and commerce, is also afflicted—retrograde and combust under the Sun’s rays, weakening it further. In a consumer-driven nation, this does not bode well for the economy. Saturn in the 2nd house already signals financial restrictions, and Mercury reinforces this by showing that if resources are limited, Americans will be forced to prioritize needs over wants.
Finally, let’s examine the Sun—the illuminating force of the chart, symbolizing authority and the King. In this case, that means President #47, Donald Trump. The Sun in the 3rd house draws attention to foreign affairs, particularly with neighboring nations. This house also governs communication, trade, transportation infrastructure, education, postal services, news media, literature, and freedom of speech. Unsurprisingly, since taking office, Trump has dominated news cycles. A notable development is the intent to dismantle the Department of Education. The potential consequences of this action loom large, casting shadows over the nation's future. However, astrology does not dictate events—it merely signifies and announces the unfolding story.
